Jobs Vacancies And Preparing For The Interview

Step two in the job application process is the dreaded interview. The first step was writing a CV and passing the screening process at the businesses you applied to.

The employer got the resume through a variety of sources that can be from jobs vacancies that were posted, a referral from a friend or a head hunter, or by a person who simply submitted an application by logging on the company’s website.

Here are a few tips that will help in having a successful interview.;

Before going to an interview, it is best to do some research about the company one is applying to.

You could have a run through of the interview with friends or family so that you think about some of the questions you are likely to be asked and have an answer prepared for them.

You should arrive ten minutes before your interview time so that you can show the employer punctuality but do not come any earlier than that or you will inconvenience the interviewer.

You should take a copy of your CV to the interview in case you are asked any specific questions about what you have written. If your job is all about creativity, you might want to take along a portfolio of your work.

make sure you wear suitable clothing. If you turn up in a casual outfit you are not showing the employer that you really want the job. make sure your hair and fingernails are tidy as these are things that get picked up on. If you have a smart suit wear it or choose a professional outfit that does not flash the flesh. This would mean that shoes must be used to match the outfit. Keep the amount of jewellery on display to a minimum.

When you are in front of the employer, smile and greet the interviewer with a firm (but not bone crushing) handshake which is always a good start to get the interview moving.

listen to the questions you are asked carefully so you can answer well. Each must be answered truthfully and confidently to be able to sell yourself to the potential employer.

End the interview with a thank you and say you hope to hear from them shortly.
