Looking through the history of education, it is incredible to see the enormous leaps that we have accomplished, such as implementing a learning management system to conduct online courses, in striving to further education endeavors.

We are already seeing signs of continuous advancements as technology is ever changing and new state of the art learning management systems are evolving.

Going back to the 1700′s, classrooms were only a one room school house, consisting of 5 different age groups all learning the same material and abacuses were the start of calculators. Education started its rapid expansion as it opened its doors to all social groups, ethnicities, ages, and genders. Children were segmented according to their ages and lesson plans were specifically created for each level. Now we skip ahead a few centuries to the age when computers were “streamlined” and for the first time made their debut in the schools. Computers found their way into the curriculum as students were required to take computer classes to learn how they operated and basic skills such as typing.

Technology took it one more step further when they introduced wireless internet. Now a days you can find wireless internet access on nearly every college campus, local caf, apartment complexes and even in the workplace. Even High School Students are turning to the web as schools now require their students to complete and submit their assignments online. Students can access their schedule and see upcoming assignments on their online accounts. Parents are now able to track their children’s progress in the school work thanks to electronic report cards. College campuses are breaking through a whole new arena as they have now created a way for their students to earn their degrees online thanks to the learning management system via established distant learning programs.

Still no signs of stopping, technology in education progresses with bring new means of efficient training resources. Interactive courses and virtual webinars are becoming a familiar and valuable enhancement, as well advanced assessment tools that enable administrators to review student’s work to determine how successful the material is and the comprehension level within the students participating. The different learning methods were also integrated to provide each student a way to accrue knowledge the way that best works for them. Opportunity has been created as doors have opened within the education world to advance learning endeavors. Thanks to technology and an ever changing learning management system, innovated learning has become a thing of today.
