Due to the recession, lots of the British workforce have been made redundant recently. This has caused them to re-evaluate their careers. Do they wish to find another job in the same field? It could be that if they have been a victim of redundancy, then there will be quite a few people trying for these roles.

Maybe they would prefer to study and move to a position for which they always had an attraction, but while their previous position was going well, would never have quit in order to take up? Perhaps they may decide to set up in business for themselves. Their redundancy money could be expended for a start up fund, giving them the ability to work for themselves and therefore remove the worry of redundancy in the future.

All the above are thoroughly reasonable choices and the decisions will be based upon knowledge, preference and personal circumstances.

If these people have always enjoyed the job they do, then it would be deemed practical to presume that they would choose to carry on with this job for a different company. Not all those who wish to Work From Home would choose to work for an Computer Business. Some would choose to work for themselves, giving them total flexibility over their future and earnings. We all are aware of the large coffee and fast food franchises which are to be had and for which vast sums of money need to be paid in order to buy into their brand, but there are other franchise opportunities with relatively low start up costs. These numbers should be checked before proceeding, to be sure they are based on factual evidence.

There are many web businesses which can direct them to appropriate franchise companies and they could realize that they rapidly have their own company doing just the kind of work they always dreamed of.
