by Julia Meiwen

For those who want to become a Certified Public Accountant, you have to take the CPA exam. You do not need to be a CPA in order to work for a company, but in order to advance in your career you should be a CPA.

The CPA exam has four sections all of which must be completed in 18 months. You have four windows of opportunities to complete the sections within the 18 months.

Topics on the CPA exam are auditing and attestation, financial accounting and reporting, regulation, and business environment and concepts. You must also know how to use word processing and spreadsheets in order to complete some questions.

The CPA exam is fairly difficult since it takes many hours altogether to complete. You want to be fully ready to take the exam when it is time.

To prepare yourself, you will need to buy CPA exam review materials to aide your study. Several companies sell CPA exam review materials so check out all of them.

The CPA exam materials can be different depending on the company that sells it. Some companies offer books, CDs, online courses, or a combination of all of those. Some may even offer live classes.

Finding the right CPA exam review material to buy is very important. You want to have study materials that mirror the CPA exam with similar questions.

Web vendors such as Amazon have buyer reviews where buyers post if they liked the product or not. From the reviews you can easily tell which CPA exam review materials are the best.

To buy the review materials, try going to the company that makes them. If you want to good deals, you can try Amazon or Ebay.

You want to get a head start in your study for the CPA exam and not wait until the last minute. The CPA covers a lot of material and that is why many people study months beforehand. Make a schedule of how you will study.

Many new traders think that for each trade a good entry into the markets is the essential key to success. Most of them are wrong, unfortunately. What is more important is trading with a good risk to reward ratio. A risk to reward ratio compares the potential for reward with the potential for loss. A good ratio has a high probability of making a profit.

Risk is measured by counting the number of pips between the forecasted entry price and the forecasted price at which you want to exit the market in case of a losing trade. A trader must view each trade as a business transaction. Risk is just a measure of how much you can lose in a trade.

Reward is measured by counting the pips between the forecasted entry price and the forecasted price at which you would want to exit the market in case of a winning trade. Reward is the expected number of pips that you want to make.

In order to manage risk properly, you need to look for high probability trades that have a risk to reward ratio of 1:2 or higher. However, this depends on the time frame that you want to trade. For example, suppose you are a day trader. You are looking for making only 30 pips in a trade. A stop loss of 15 pips is sufficient for the risk to reward ratio of 1:2.

However, suppose you are a swing trader or a position trader with a longer time frame. Your profit potential will be more on a longer time frame. Suppose you choose 200 pips as your expected profit. You will need to set your stop loss at 100 pips.

The reason that you need to set a higher stop loss on a larger time frame is that small trends occur within the larger trend. Retracements on shorter time frame are much smaller. Retracement on the larger time frame is much bigger. Due to smaller trends in the larger trends, your trade is going to be recycled. In order to be not stopped out of the trade, you need to calculate your risk to reward ratio appropriately.

The second most important thing for traders is minimizing losses, next to maximizing profits. A forex trading system that wins on average only 50% of the time can still be profitable. Most of the traders want to make money. But they dont know how to protect what they currently have.

You have a 50/50 chance of the currency market going your way. It is just like flipping a coin. In case, the trade does not develop in your favor and the market is going against you, you should cut your losses by using stop losses. In simple terms, you cut your losses and let your winners run. This simple 50/50 trading strategy earns a profit even when a novice trader might experience a loss.

Consider different risk to reward ratios and how much you need to win to break even. For 2:1 risk to reward ratio, you need 67% winners just to break even. For a 1:1 risk to reward ratio, it means just 50% winners to break even. 1:2 ratio means only 33.5% winners. Never ever trade when the risk to reward ratio is more than 1:2.

Focus, a simple word but very much understood. This short article focuses (there’s that word again) on focus in the context of a job application. Finding the right Job for you is very important as it affects every single facet of your life. If ever there was a time when you need intense focus, it is in the context of finding a job

What exactly does focus mean? To me, focus means gathering up every available resource that you can get your hands on and driving the result that you want through using every available tool. Focus needs motivation, and a total absence of anger

Being angry about losing your job can really show up in your writing. Given that you have only 30 seconds or so in which to make a favorable impression, you need intense focus to make sure that your CV magnificent. This is a selling document, there is no room for loss of focus or waffle in a very concise selling proposal like your resume

Anger in a job application or CV however will get your application rejected. Scrutinies your application and check it for tone, particularly paying attention to anything that may come over as resentful or angry. Whilst as people we may feel some empathy to your situation, nobody wants to take anyone on who is angry at a previous employer

Being focused helps you create your ideal CV. You need to set aside a day to get it sorted out. Research and collate all your past achievements, no matter small, going through your whole career. Pay more attention to your most recent career as that is by far the most relevant. An employer is interested in whilst you can do for them

Achievements are what separate the great from the ordinary. If achievements were not important, then why would we have medals, prizes, competitions, etc. The simple truth is that life is competitive and we all want to be associated with winners. Achievements in your career show you to be a winner. Focus of showing a recruiter what you can do by highlighting your achievements in your CV

Your CV should show you to be an extraordinary person. Employing the service of a professional CV writer can certainly help you, and there are several good books on the subject. The point is that maintaining a serious focus on your CV and job application will make you stand out from the rest of the candidates and that is exactly what you need to be focused on

by Jason Kendall

Anybody thinking about training for the IT sector will soon realise that there are a diverse range of courses available to them. Prior to getting started, seek out a training company that has advisors, so you can be educated on the type of work your course will lead you to. You may well discover job roles you didn’t know about. Training ranges from Microsoft User Skills to Databases, Programming, Networking and Web Design. There is a huge amount of choice and so it’s probably best to talk through your options with an industry expert before you confirm the course you want: the last thing you want to do is learn about a subject for a job you’d actually hate!

By keeping costs to a minimum, computer training providers can now offer contemporary courses that feature outstanding training and guidance for much less than is asked for by more out-dated organisations.

Working on revolutionary new technology gives you the best job satisfaction ever. Your actions are instrumental in shaping the next few decades. We are really only just starting to get a handle on what this change will mean to us. How we communicate and interact with everyone around us will be significantly affected by technology and the internet.

A regular IT employee throughout Britain can demonstrate that they get considerably more money than his or her counterpart outside of IT. Standard IT wages are hard to beat nationally. It’s no secret that there is a great UK-wide demand for trained and qualified IT technicians. It follows that as growth in the industry shows little sign of contracting, it appears this pattern will continue for the significant future.

Those that are drawn to this type of work are often very practical, and don’t always take well to classrooms, and endless reading of dry academic textbooks. If this is putting you off studying, go for more modern interactive training, where learning is video-based. Studies have consistently confirmed that becoming involved with our studies, to utilise all our senses, is much more conducive to long-term memory.

Top of the range study programs now offer interactive CD and DVD ROM’s. Instructor-led tutorials will mean you’ll learn your subject by way of the demonstrations and explanations. Knowledge can then be tested by interacting with the software and practicing yourself. It’s wise to view examples of the courseware provided before you purchase a course. The minimum you should expect would be videoed instructor demonstrations and a variety of audio-visual and interactive sections.

Opt for physical media such as CD or DVD ROM’s if possible. This then avoids all the potential pitfalls with internet connection failure and issues with signal quality.

Beware of putting too much emphasis, as many people do, on the training course itself. Training is not an end in itself; you’re training to become commercially employable. Stay focused on what it is you want to achieve. It’s common, for example, to obtain tremendous satisfaction from a year of studying and then spend 20 miserable years in a tiresome job role, simply because you did it without the correct research when it was needed – at the start.

Get to grips with earning potential and how ambitious you are. Usually, this will point the way to what precise accreditations will be expected and what you can expect to give industry in return. Your likely to need help from a professional that can best explain the industry you think may suit you, and will be able to provide ‘A day in the life of’ explanation for that career-path. These things are absolutely essential because you need to know if you’re going down the right road.

A sneaky way that training companies make a lot more is through up-front charges for exams then giving it ‘Exam Guarantee’ status. This looks like a great idea for the student, until you think it through:

Obviously it isn’t free – you’re still coughing up for it – it’s just been included in your package price. It’s well known in the industry that when trainees fund their relevant examinations, one after the other, they will be much more likely to pass first time – since they’re aware of their payment and therefore will put more effort into their preparation.

Shouldn’t you be looking to go for the best offer at the time, not to pay the fees marked up by a college, and to do it locally – instead of miles away at the college’s beck and call? A lot of extra profit is made by a number of companies that take the exam money up-front. For various reasons, many students don’t take their exams and so they pocket the rest. Believe it or not, providers exist who actually rely on students not sitting all the exams – as that’s where a lot of their profit comes from. The majority of organisations will require you to do mock exams and with-hold subsequent exam entries from you until you’ve proven conclusively that you can pass – so an ‘Exam Guarantee’ comes with many clauses in reality.

With average Prometric and VUE exams in the United Kingdom costing around 112 pounds, it’s common sense to fund them one by one. It’s not in the student’s interests to fork out hundreds or thousands of pounds for exams when enrolling on a course. Commitment, effort and practice with quality exam preparation systems are the factors that really get you through.

A skilled and professional consultant (in contrast with a salesperson) will ask questions and seek to comprehend your current situation. This is vital for working out the starting point for your education. If you have a strong background, or maybe some real-world experience (maybe some existing accreditation?) then it’s more than likely the point from which you begin your studies will be different from someone with no background whatsoever. If this is your initial crack at studying to take an IT exam then you may want to cut your teeth on user-skills and software training first.

Mortgage Loan Processors put all of the relevant documents together that are involved processing a mortgage. These individuals can perform such duties as ordering and processing an appraisal and acquiring essential documentation. Documentation can include: customer credit reports, customer applications, title insurance, ordering home appraisals, calculating customers’ monthly income, and payment documents. The Mortgage loan processor will check this information against the borrower’s information to ensure that there are no inconsistencies. Based on the confirmed application information, a mortgage loan processor will recommend whether to approve or deny the application. If the application is accepted, they will submit the application for underwriting.

Mortgage Loan Processors are in great demand. For those interested in a career as a mortgage loan processor, there are a number of steps one can take in order to achieve this lucrative job.

To become a mortgage loan processor, one has to have completed high school. However, there are some employers that require a university undergraduate degree. There are a number of colleges across the country that offers programs, diplomas and certificates in loan processing. Students enrolled in loan processing programs will learn about how to process a loan, credit policies and laws about processing a loan, various terminologies associated with loan processing, and the information that underwriters require. These programs tend to focus on the state in which they are located.

Before embarking on a career as a mortgage loan process, you must have good and up-to-date computer skills. Mortgage companies utilize the most current computers and software. There are many colleges and night schools that offer computer classes. As well, with all of the educational programs available, it is important that one knows about real estate loans. One should learn as much as they can about how the process of real estate loans work. There are a number of books and information available online that will help one become familiar with real estate loans.

Experience is a very important asset. There is a great deal of on-the-job learning involved with mortgage loan processing. The more experience you have in the field of loan processing, the better chance you have of securing a job as a mortgage loan processor. Most lenders and brokers only hire mortgage loan processors with experience.

When entering the mortgage loan industry, one should obtain a position at a mortgage lender company or a bank. Mortgage loan processors can normally start out making about $25, 000 a year. It all depends on ones education and experience.

The job of a mortgage loan processor is very important. A mortgage loan processor is responsible for gathering the necessary documents for a mortgage applicant, underwriters, and the lender. The processor will build the mortgage file and get it ready for underwriting. If you are interested in a career as a mortgage loan processor, it is important to know as much as possible about what the job entails and qualifications required for the job. You may want to talk to an actual mortgage loan processor to get his or her feedback. If you are successful at your job, you will likely see your pay increase.

by Jason Kendall

Nice One! Finding this article means you’re likely to be contemplating your career, and if training for a new career’s in your mind you’ve even now progressed more than almost everybody else. Are you aware that hardly any of us would say we are satisfied and happy at work – yet the vast majority of us will do absolutely nothing about it. We encourage you to be different and do something – you have the rest of your life to enjoy it.

It’s in your interests that before you start a training course, you discuss your plans with a person who knows the industry and can point you in the right direction. The right person will be able to assess your personal likes and dislikes and give you guidance on the right role for you:

* Do you see yourself dealing with people? Would that be with the same people or with a lot of new people? It could be working by yourself with your own methodology would give you pleasure?

* What thoughts are fundamentally important with regard to the industry you’ll work in?

* How long a career do you hope to have once retrained, and can your chosen industry provide you with that possibility?

* Are you happy that the training program you’ve chosen will offer you employment opportunities, and make it possible to work right up to the time you want to stop?

Pay attention to the IT industry, that will be time well spent – you’ll find it’s one of the only growth areas in this country and overseas. In addition, salaries and benefits exceed most other industries.

Huge changes are flooding technology over the next few decades – and it only gets more exciting every day. We’re in the very early stages of beginning to see just how technology will define our world. Technology and the web will profoundly change the way we view and interrelate with the world as a whole over the coming decades.

The typical IT employee over this country as a whole is likely to get significantly more money than fellow workers in much of the rest of the economy. Average wages are around the top of national league tables. Apparently there is not a hint of a downturn for IT jobs increases across Britain. The market is continuing to expand rapidly, and as we have a significant shortage of skilled professionals, it’s not likely that it will even slow down for the significant future.

Often, students don’t think to check on a vitally important element – how their company segments the training materials, and into how many bits. Usually, you’ll join a programme that takes between and 1 and 3 years and receive a module at a time. It seems to make sense on one level, but consider these issues: What would their reaction be if you find it difficult to do each and every module at the speed they required? Sometimes their preference of study order doesn’t work as well as an alternative path could be.

In a perfect world, you want everything at the start – enabling you to have them all to return to any point – at any time you choose. You can also vary the order in which you attack each section as and when something more intuitive seems right for you.

If you’re thinking of using a training academy which still utilises workshops as a feature of their programme, then take note of these typical downsides encountered by most students:

* All the travelling required – multiple journeys and quite often 100′s of miles each time.

* Requesting frequent time off work – many training providers only offer Mon-Fri class availability and link several days together. This can be hard for a lot of working people, especially if you include the travel time on top.

* Most of us think 4 weeks annual leave doesn’t go very far. Sacrifice a big chunk of this for educational workshops and watch how much harder things become.

* Taking into account the costs associated with delivering a workshop, a lot of training providers fill the classes up to the brim – not really ideal (and with less one-on-one time).

* Many trainees are trying to maintain a quick pace, but some like to take it easier and be allowed to set their own speed. This generates tension in most cases.

* Tot up the cost of all the travel, fares, accommodation, parking and food and you may be surprised (and not pleasantly). Trainees mention extra costs of between several hundred and a couple of thousand pounds. Work it out – and see for yourself.

* Keeping your training private from your employer can be high on the list of priorities to a lot of attendees. Why lose any possible promotions, salary hikes or achievement in your job because you’re getting trained in a different area. If your work discovers you’ve committed to qualification in another area entirely, what do you think they’ll do?

* Every one of us must, at some time, have avoided putting our hand’s up, because we didn’t want to look stupid?

* Usually, events are virtually undoable, when you work or live away for part of the week.

It obviously makes a lot more sense to be trained when it suits you — not the training company – and utilise videos of instructors with interactive virtual-lab’s. Training can take place wherever it suits you. If you have a laptop, why not catch some fresh air in your garden as you work. Any issues that arise just get onto the live 24×7 support. You can go back and re-cover all the study modules as many times as you want to. There’s absolutely no need to jot down any notes because the class is available whenever you want it. The outcome: Reduced stress, saved money, and absolutely no travelling.

by Glenn Hughes

A recruiter looking through a pile of CVs needs to see information in a certain way. In the same way, when we look at a menu in a restaurant, we expect to see starters, main courses, desserts and beverages laid out in a particular way. Failure to meet the readers expectations leads to confusion. Most people will put that CV straight into the “no” pile rather than waste their time trying to pick out information that should have been readily available

Your first and second name should sit prominently at the top of your CV. There is no need for second (or more) names to be added). Leave it as plain and simple as you can and avoid pretense at all costs. A shortened version of your Christian name is increasingly acceptable, for example, Fred not Frederick is very normal nowadays. Using the name with which you answer the telephone will be fine

Include your full, correct postal address along with post code or zip code as appropriate. Landline numbers are always a good idea. Personally, I would always include a home telephone number as well as a mobile number. If you don’t have a mobile yet, consider purchasing a cheap pay as you go mobile phone- it will definitely be worth it for you

A career statement and personal profile is expected of you. The employer needs to know what sort of job role you have done/ or are capable of fulfilling. They need to be aware of the sort of level of seniority you have, the geographical area in which you want to work, and also some pointer towards your track record. The industry sector(s) is which you are able to work are also very important. Effectively, you are showing what you can do, at what level, for who and where.

Career history. This needs to highlight your achievements in each of the jobs you’ve done over, say the last 8 years. Work experience further back in the past should be included in an “other” work section towards the end of the document. Work from your most recent achievements in reverse chronological order (work back)

Academic qualifications are different from professional qualifications. academic qualifications are gained at educational institutions like schools, universities, etc. Start with the highest level of qualification (which is usually the most recent as well), work through your qualifications and list them appropriately

There is some confusion about professional qualifications- people think that all qualifications are the same, whether they are academic (gained through educational institutions) or professional. Professional qualifications are usually gained through a company, service provider or perhaps an individual. Make sure they are listed in order of level of importance. This can be a little subjective but try and put the most important/ most relevant first given the type of job for which you are applying

Hobbies, interests, driving license, age, etc. This should be one of the very last things to be written on your CV. Make sure that this information is factual, and do not put your actual date of birth into the CV as you never know where the CV will end up- identity theft is a very real issue and you should protect information like your date of birth. You don’t actually need to put your age on at all if you don’t want to- leave it out

by Robbi Hess

You sent your resume in for consideration, you talked to the hiring manager on the phone and now, here you are, preparing to go in for the interview. Yes, it’s a lot of pressure, trying to sell yourself in a brief interview time but take a deep breathe, prepare beforehand and you’re certain to ace the interview.

Practice, yes practice, for the interview. Look at your resume and try to memorize what duties you performed at your prior positions. Were you responsible for a particular project? What was the outcome? Synopsize it and remember it for the interview. Do you have gaps in your employment? Do you have an answer for those gaps? Be prepared to account for them.

The company you’re interviewing with was recently written up in the local paper. Bring that up in the interview. Let the interviewer know that you are knowledgeable about their organization. Did they revolutionize a process or procedure? Mention it. While you’re at it, if you can work any of your past experience into what they currently offer, bring it up, highlight your skills, abilities, and how they could enhance the workplace.

Be prepared for a “behavioral interview” session. Rather than the hiring manager going through your resume position by position he or she might ask you to elaborate on specific duties performed in past jobs. Be prepared to supply specifics on cost savings, time savings, or other efficiencies realized. Don’t fumble around for the answer.

It may be antiquated but the standard “interview suit” is still a dress or skirt for women, and a suit and tie with a jacket for men. Even if you aren’t going to interact with the public dressed in a suit on a daily basis, you still need to make a great first impression and going to an interview in jeans and sandals will not make that impression.

It’s a nerve-wracking event…the interview. But don’t crack your knuckles or chew gum to help calm your nerves. As a way to help calm yourself for the impending interview arrive early, refresh your memory with details from your resume, and above all be calm. Hand the interviewer a clean copy of your resume, shake his or her hand, smile and be prepared to sell yourself and your abilities.

One of such careers is the pharmacist career.

Most people seem to have different ideas of what the job description of a pharmacist is. For some, he is just a dispenser, for others, he’s nothing more than a tablet counter and yet for some other group of people, the pharmacist is the guy you meet at the counter in the drug section of a store who prescribes drugs or fills prescriptions among many other things. In the light of this confusion, it is better to clearly outline what the pharmacist does, and his role in the health care sector. In the simplest of terms, a pharmacist studies drugs or pills -tons of them, its effects on the body, drug dispensing, treatments and prescriptions. The knowledge gathered from all of these activities puts him in a better position where he can take care of and fill the prescriptions of patients.

The tendency however is to take the pharmacist for granted and see him as unimportant since doctors actually prescribe the medications. The pharmacist when fully employed and not sidelined, ensures that even the doctor’s prescription is right. This is because in the process of hurrying, doctors sometimes prescribe wrongly.

Becoming a pharmacist isn’t just about studying under one for a certain number of years before writing the exams. To become a pharmacist, it is very necessary to get 7 years of formal education. Therefore, anyone aspiring to become a pharmacist must undergo three different stages which include all the necessary courses and steps required before he can be called a pharmacist. These steps are:

1. Passing the PCAT (Pharmacy college admissions test). This is preceded by 2 years in college in the US and A-Levels in the UK. The necessary courses to be taken at this period include mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry. These are the necessary courses required. An interested individual may however, opt for courses in the social sciences and the humanities.

2. The second step actually involves studying at the School of Pharmacy in their chosen universities or tertiary institutions. During this process, they get to learn everything related to pharmacy. Some of the necessary courses often include pharmacology, dispensing, ethics of the profession et.c. Alongside their learning, they also get to acquire professional skills, knowledge and firsthand experience of the pharmacy practice.

3. After graduation from the school of pharmacy, all graduands are required to do a 1-2 yr internship or residency program during which they are assigned projects to work on and defend at the completion of their program.

4. Finally, the pharmacist takes a qualification or conversion exam such as the Multi-state Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam in the intended state before practicing.
